Thomas Driver died from wounds on 23rd March, 1915, after having been brought back to a base hospital on the coast but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 1st Lincolnshire battalion was part of 9 Brigade, 3rd Division that had arrived in France at the beginning of the war and had been involved in the fighting on the Western Front since that date. In March, 1915 they were holding the line to the south of Ypres. |
